Jonathan McKernan is the Under Secretary for Domestic Finance. Mr. McKernan previously served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and held senior roles at the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the U.S. Senate, and the Treasury Department.
Before his government service, Mr. McKernan was an attorney in private practice focused on the banking and consumer finance laws.
Mr. McKernan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee with a B.A. and M.A. in economics and received his J.D. with High Honors from the Duke University School of Law.
He, his wife, and three sons reside in Washington, D.C.
