Deputy Secretary of the Treasury
Francis Brooke serves as the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.
He was confirmed by the United States Senate in August 2026.
In this role, Mr. Brooke supports the Secretary in overseeing the Department’s work to promote a strong, stable, and prosperous U.S. economy, strengthen American economic leadership, and safeguard the nation’s financial system and national security.
Prior to becoming Deputy Secretary, Mr. Brooke served as Acting Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs and as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for International Trade and Development. Before joining the Treasury Department, he spent nearly four years as Policy Director for House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.
Mr. Brooke previously served in the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council under Director Larry Kudlow, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Council and helped manage the President’s economic policy agenda, including efforts to grow the U.S. economy, create jobs, and increase wages. Prior to serving as Deputy Director, Mr. Brooke was Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, managing energy, environment, transportation, and infrastructure policy at the White House.
