TREASURY ORDER 135-05

SUBJECT: Delegation Of Authority To Determine Charges For Services Performed By The Bureau Of Engraving And Printing And Adjust Prices

  1. PURPOSE.  This Order delegates to the Director, Bureau of Engraving and Printing authority to determine charges for services performed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and adjust prices to fund capital investments and provide future working capital.    
  2. SCOPE.  This Order applies to all bureaus, offices, and organizations in the Department of the Treasury, including the offices of inspectors general within the Department.  The provisions of this order shall not be construed to interfere with or impede the authorities or independence of the Department’s inspectors general. 
  3. DELEGATION.  By virtue of the authority vested in me as Secretary of the Treasury, including the authority in 31 U.S.C. 321(b), I hereby delegate to the Director, Bureau of Engraving and Printing:
    1. The authority in 31 U.S.C. 5143 to determine prices to be charged for services performed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing; and
    2. The authority in 31 U.S.C. 5142(c) to adjust prices to permit buying capital equipment and provide future working capital.
  4. REDELEGATION.  The authority delegated to the Director by this order may be redelegated in writing to an appropriate subordinate official. 
  5. AUTHORITIES.

    3. 31 U.S.C. 5143.
  6. CANCELLATION.  Treasury Order 135-05, "Delegation to Director, Bureau of Engraving and Printing Over Prices for Their Work and to Determine Fair Value of Capitalization of Inventories," dated July 2, 1951, is superseded.
