Treasury Under Secretary Nathan Sheets to Visit Japan, October 22-25, 2014

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced today that Under Secretary for International Affairs Nathan Sheets is traveling to Tokyo and Karuizawa, Japan this week, October 22-25, for discussions with senior government officials and business leaders about the U.S. and Japanese economies, regional and global economic outlook, and policies to boost regional growth and global demand.
On Thursday, October 23, Under Secretary Sheets will meet with Bank of Japan’s Deputy Governor Hiroshi Nakaso.  On Friday, October 24, he will meet with Vice Minister for International Affairs, Financial Services Agency, Masamichi Kono, Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs Tatsuo Yamasaki, and with Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda.  These meetings are closed press.
Also on Friday and Saturday, Under Secretary Sheets will participate in the Harvard Symposium on Building the Financial System of the 21st Century: An Agenda for Japan and the United States.  This event is closed press.
