Treasury and USAID Host Financial Inclusion Forum

WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will host the Financial Inclusion Forum. The forum will bring together a diverse group of leaders from the U.S. and foreign governments, financial institutions and other corporations, and nonprofits. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew and Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will deliver opening remarks.
 
At this event, participants will explore ways to foster greater access to safe and affordable financial services for everyone. A number of participants are expected to make announcements about specific ways that they can accelerate progress on financial inclusion efforts in the United States and worldwide.

Media without press credentials issued by Treasury must include the following information for access into the building: (1) full legal name, (2) date of birth, (3) social security number, and (4) country of citizenship.
 
Media attending with camera equipment must arrive at the South Entrance (15th Street and Alexander Hamilton Place) no later than 6:30 a.m. EST on December 1 to allow time for equipment sweeps and set-up. No vehicles will be permitted onto Treasury grounds, and equipment must be carried in. All other media should arrive by 7:00 a.m. EST at the main entrance (Pennsylvania Avenue/New York Avenue and 15th Street).
