Treasury Secretary John Snow visits with recipients of microcredit loans in Mumbai, India Tuesday. The recipients, located in the largest slum in Asia, use the funding to obtain better housing and start small businesses. Secretary Snow's visit is part of a five-day visit to India.
While in Mumbai and New Delhi this week Secretary Snow will highlight our growing economic relationship and financial ties with India. He will discuss the strong potential of the Indian economy, focusing on efforts to further liberalize the financial sector and improve financing infrastructure, as well as India's role in the upcoming Doha round of trade talks.
