Treasury Secretary John Snow swore in Randal Quarles as Treasury Under Secretary for Domestic Finance at a ceremony in the Cash Room of the Treasury Department Friday. In this position, Quarles serves as the principal adviser to the Secretary on matters of domestic finance and leads the Department's activities with respect to the domestic financial system, fiscal policy and operations, governmental assets and liabilities, and related economic and financial matters. Quarles formally began serving as Under Secretary August 2, 2005.
