Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. will hold a one-day conference on Thursday in Washington, D.C. to examine ways in which our current business tax system affects economic growth and U.S. competitiveness in the global economy. Featuring leading businessmen and women, economists and current and former government officials, the conference is a continuation of Secretary Paulson's effort to ensure that American businesses and workers remain competitive in the global marketplace. The Treasury Department has also released a background paper concerning some of the issues that will be discussed at the conference.
