Treasury Secretary and Managing Trustee Henry M. Paulson, Jr. will host a press briefing today to discuss the release of the annual Trustees Reports. The briefing will be webcast at 2:00 p.m. EDT. Secretary Paulson will be joined by fellow members of the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao, Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt and Commissioner of Social Security Michael J. Astrue. Every year the trustees provide a detailed accounting of the current and projected financial status of the Social Security and Medicare trust funds.
