Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. delivered remarks today on the economy, the housing sector and the progress of the HOPE NOW alliance before the National Association for Business Economics. According to today's information, HOPE NOW's progress is accelerating. In January, there were 167,000 work-outs, up 11 percent from December. Loan modifications alone increased 19 percent from December to January, said Paulson.
