Special Envoy for China and the Strategic Economic Dialogue Alan Holmer provided a briefing Friday on the upcoming meeting of the U.S.-China Strategic Economic Dialogue. The fourth Cabinet level meeting of the SED is scheduled to take place at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. on June 17 – 18. Presidents Bush and Hu established the SED in 2006 to provide a focused and effective framework for addressing economic issues of mutual concern. The SED focuses on a range of issues including financial sector reform and increased currency flexibility, the integrity of trade and product safety, and investment.
