Washington, D.C. – Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. will host the fourth Cabinet level meeting of the U.S.–China Strategic Economic Dialogue next week. Secretary Paulson will be joined by Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt, OMB Director Jim Nussle, U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab, EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson, and other Administration officials.
In addition, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke will participate in the Strategic Economic Dialogue discussions.
The fourth Cabinet level meeting of the U.S.–China Strategic Economic Dialogue will focus on managing financial and macroeconomic cycles, developing human capital, the benefits of trade and open markets, enhancing investment, and advancing joint opportunities for cooperation in energy and the environment.
