Readout from a Treasury Spokesperson on Secretary Lew’s Meeting with Mexican Secretary of Finance and Public Credit Luis Videgaray Caso

PARIS – U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew met today with Mexican Secretary of Finance and Public Credit Luis Videgaray Caso.  

Secretary Lew and Secretary Videgaray reaffirmed the importance of close U.S.-Mexico economic and financial cooperation, including during the just concluded Financing for Development Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  They also discussed efforts to successfully complete a 21st century high standard Trans-Pacific Partnership.   

Secretary Lew and Secretary Videgaray exchanged views on global economic developments and on the prospects for economic growth.  Secretary Lew commended Secretary Videgaray for the historical accomplishment of concluding the “Round One” bidding of Mexico’s oil blocks.
