Readout from a Treasury Spokesperson on a roundtable discussion with Secretary Jacob J. Lew and financial market participants and experts

WASHINGTON – Today at the New York University Stern School of Business, Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew participated in a roundtable discussion with market participants and academics as part of Treasury’s regular engagement on market structure issues.  

The conversation focused on developments in financial markets and participants exchanged views on overall market outlook and recent volatility.  Secretary Lew reiterated that the U.S. Treasury market remains the deepest and most liquid in the world and highlighted a recent joint staff report about the U.S. Treasury Market on October 15, 2014, noting that Treasury is studying the evolution of trading and participation in the Treasury market.
