WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent met with Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti of Italy. The Secretary reaffirmed the United States’ positive cooperation with Italy across a range of shared threats and was glad to discuss Italy’s plans towards increasing defense spending.
Secretary Bessent emphasized that a lasting, durable peace in Ukraine remains a top priority for the Trump Administration.
