WASHINGTON — Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent announced today a key appointment for a senior position at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Michael Friedman will serve as Chief of Staff. Mr. Friedman joins the Department from the White House, where he served as Special Assistant to the President for Presidential Personnel and played a pivotal role in staffing efforts across the Trump Administration. Before joining the Administration, Mr. Friedman held senior leadership roles at supply chain technology and e-commerce startups. A native of New York City, Mr. Friedman earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.S. in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
