Washington – Today, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin released the following statement on the staff-level agreement between Argentina and the IMF for a new economic program.
“We welcome the strong monetary and fiscal policy adjustments proposed by the Argentine government in its new staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund. We strongly support President Macri’s enhanced policy efforts and the new monetary policy initiative aimed at lowering interest rates and inflation and placing the Argentine economy on a path of sustainable growth.”
