Readout from a Treasury Spokesperson of Secretary Mnuchin’s Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Taro Aso of Japan

BALI – Last week, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin met with Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Taro Aso.  Secretary Mnuchin and Deputy Prime Minister Aso discussed ongoing security issues of mutual concern, including North Korea and Iran, as well as the importance of free, fair, and reciprocal trade between the United States and Japan. The Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the strong economic relationship between the United States and Japan, and discussed their ongoing close cooperation and shared commitment towards achieving strong and broad-based economic growth, trade, and security.
