WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin met with Italy’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Giovanni Tria. Secretary Mnuchin and Minister Tria discussed economic, trade, and security issues. The Secretary and Minister also discussed regulation of foreign investment and the need for consensus-based approaches to international tax, as well as ongoing security issues pertaining to Iran and Russia. Secretary Mnuchin affirmed American recognition of Juan Guaidó as the Interim President of Venezuela, and urged Italy to join the United States in doing so.
