MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - Dr. Jim Yong Kim, President Obama's nominee for the World Bank Presidency, traveled to Mexico City, Mexico today on the eighth country stop of his global listening tour. While there, he met with Mexican Finance Secretary Jose Antonio Meade. They discussed the role of the World Bank in the G-20, the importance of a continued strong relationship between Mexico and the World Bank, and how the institution can continue to help middle-income countries reduce poverty and boost growth.

Later, Dr. Kim met with Mexican Central Bank Governor Agustin Carstens. They discussed the relationship between the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the role of the World Bank in strengthening the global financial architecture.

Finally, Dr. Kim met with Honduran Finance Minister Héctor Guillén and Nicaraguan Central Bank President Alberto Guevara. They discussed how the World Bank can help promote regional integration and shared infrastructure.
