Payroll Support Program Extension (PSP2)

EXTENDING SUPPORT FOR AIRLINE WORKERS

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, enacted on March 27, 2020, created the Payroll Support Program (PSP1) for air carriers and certain contractors.  PSP1 provided assistance to over 600 companies, supporting hundreds of thousands of aviation jobs.  The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, enacted on December 27, 2020, created the Payroll Support Program Extension (PSP2) for passenger air carriers and certain contractors.

 

APPLYING FOR PSP2

The application deadline for PSP2 was 11:59PM ET on Monday, January 25, 2021.  Because the program is over-subscribed, Treasury has taken down the portal for new applications and will not consider applications that were not submitted through the portal.

 

PSP2 APPLICATION DEADLINES

To receive responses on their applications as quickly as possible, applicants should submit their web-based application form not later than 11:59 p.m. EDT on January 14, 2021.  Applications received after 11:59 p.m. EDT on January 14, 2021 will be considered, but may not be processed as quickly.  Applications received after 11:59 p.m. EDT on January 25, 2021, may not be considered, although Treasury may, at its discretion and subject to the availability of funds, consider such applications.
