WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, September 9, 2014, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Transportation will host the Infrastructure Investment Summit at Treasury.  The Summit is part of the President’s Build America Investment Initiative to encourage private sector investment in our nation’s infrastructure.  The day-long conference will bring together leading institutional investors and project developers with federal, state, and local government officials to focus on innovative financing approaches and highlight other resources that support infrastructure investment.  Following a keynote address by Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew, three panel discussions will focus on state and local approaches to project development, investor perspectives and best practices for efficient project delivery.  These discussions will be moderated by senior Administration officials, including Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, Treasury Deputy Secretary Sarah Bloom Raskin and White House National Economic Council Director Jeffrey Zients.  A series of afternoon breakout discussions will follow the morning panel sessions.
