SUBJECT:    Delegation of Authority to the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury to Make Determinations in Connection with Certain U.S. Mint Foreign Procurements

By virtue of the authority vested in me as Secretary of the Treasury, including the authority in 31 U.S.C. 321(b), there is hereby delegated to the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury the authority vested in the Secretary pursuant to Section 3 of Public Law 100-274 (31 U.S.C. 5112(c)(2)) to make determinations that it is inconsistent with the public interest, or the cost is unreasonable, to acquire for the production of coins, certain articles, materials, supplies and services which have been produced or manufactured in the United States.  The Deputy Secretary shall publish in the Federal Register a written finding stating the basis for the determination.
