SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority to the Directors, Bureau of Engraving and Printing and United States Mint, to Appoint Special Police Officers
- PURPOSE. This Order establishes procedures and guidance and delegates to the Directors, Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the United States Mint, authority to appoint special police officers and establish rules and regulations for the protection of their respective bureaus.
- SCOPE. This Order applies to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the United States Mint.
- DELEGATION. By the authority vested in me as Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, including the authority in 31 USC 321(b), I hereby delegate:
- To the Director, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, authority to appoint special police officers and to make all needful rules and regulations for the protection of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing,
- To the Director, United States Mint, authority to appoint special police officers and to make all needful rules and regulations for the protection of the United States Mint.
- REDELEGATION. The authority delegated by this Order may be redelegated in writing.
- RESPONSIBILITIES. The authority conferred by this Order shall be exercised in accordance with the provisions of Pub. L. No. 104-208, div. A, Title I, sec. 101(f)(Title V, sec. 517), codified at 31 USC 5141 (note), which describes the authority of the special police officers of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and of the United States Mint.
