***Media Advisory*** Wednesday: Senior Treasury Official to Hold Background Briefing in Advance of Secretary Geithner’s Trip to Marseille, France for G-7 Finance Ministers Meeting

WASHINGTON – At 1:00 pm EDT on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, a senior Treasury official will hold a background briefing ahead of Secretary Tim Geithner’s trip this week to Marseille, France to attend the G-7 Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors and the Deauville Partnership Finance Ministers Meeting on September 9-10, 2011. The briefing will be held in the Media Room at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The Secretary will meet with G-7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors on September 9 to discuss the need for a reinvigorated global effort to support growth, jobs and financial stability. On September 10, Secretary Geithner will participate in a meeting of the Deauville Partnership to discuss continued efforts to support successful transitions toward democratic societies and more inclusive economies in the Middle East and North Africa.
