Cohen to Continue Treasury’s Global Consultation on Efforts to Combat Illicit Finance

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced today that Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence David S. Cohen is traveling to the U.A.E. next week to continue Treasury’s global engagement on issues related to illicit finance including the implementation of international economic sanctions against Iran and Syria.

Under Secretary Cohen will meet with senior government officials in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. These discussions will continue the ongoing cooperation and consultation between the U.S. and the U.A.E. on combating the financing of terrorism worldwide as well as the need to be increasingly vigilant to attempts by Iran to evade sanctions.
