Inaugural conference to focus on financial empowerment and supporting access to capital
WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, February 26, 2014, Treasury will host the first-ever Morton Meetings, a half-day celebration of the legacy of Azie Taylor Morton, the first African American Treasurer of the United States, and a conversation with today’s history-makers who are working to expand economic opportunity and access to capital for all, including African Americans. Media without press credentials issued by Treasury must include the following information for access into the building: (1) full legal name, (2) date of birth, (3) Social Security number, and (4) country of citizenship.
Media attending with camera equipment should arrive at the South entrance (on 15th Street and Alexander Hamilton Avenue) no later than 11:30 a.m. to allow time for equipment sweeps and set-up. No vehicles will be permitted onto Treasury grounds; equipment must be carried in. All other media should arrive by 12:30 p.m. at the North entrance (Pennsylvania Avenue and 15th Street).
