WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability for Young Americans (Council) will webcast its next meeting. U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew, U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Corday will join other members of the Council at this meeting. The Council will discuss the role of cities and communities in improving financial capability of young people and hear reports from each of the Council's subcommittees. The meeting will be held at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, and the public can view it online at WhiteHouse.gov.
The Council is comprised of the Secretary of the Treasury, the Secretary of Education, the Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and up to 22 non-governmental members. The Council’s mission is to advise the President and the Secretary of the Treasury on how to promote financial capability among young Americans and encourage building the financial capability of young people at an early stage in schools, families, communities, and the workplace and through use of technology.
