WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that Under Secretary Nathan Sheets will travel to Sao Paulo and Brasilia, Brazil, and to Buenos Aires, Argentina, from March 14-16, 2016.
On March 14 in Sao Paulo, Under Secretary Sheets will discuss economic developments with Brazilian business leaders.
On March 15 in Brasilia, Under Secretary Sheets will hold a meeting of the United States-Brazil Economic and Financial Dialogue with counterparts at the Brazilian Ministry of Finance. He will meet separately with Brazilian Finance Minister Nelson Barbosa and with Brazilian Central Bank Governor Tombini to discuss the state of the global economy, cooperation with Brazil on leading international priorities in the G-20, and Brazil’s economic reforms.
On March 16 in Buenos Aires, Under Secretary Sheets will make the first visit by a senior Treasury official to Argentina since 2004. He will meet with Argentine Finance Minister Prat-Gay, Central Bank Governor Sturzenegger, and other members of President Macri’s economic team to discuss the Macri Administration’s economic reform program, opportunities for bilateral cooperation, and G-20 priorities.
