WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam J. Szubin will visit Jakarta, Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Malaysia, and Singapore on May 2-5, 2016.
During his trip, Acting Under Secretary Szubin will discuss anti-money laundering/countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) efforts with senior government officials and private sector representatives. Acting Under Secretary Szubin will also press for robust implementation of UN sanctions against North Korea and discuss broader security issues, including efforts to combat ISIL’s finances.
This trip underscores Treasury’s continued engagement with the international community and private sector on global implementation of AML/CFT standards and commitment to better protect the international financial system from abuse.
