U.S. Treasury Secretary Lew Travels to Greece and China

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that Secretary Jacob J. Lew will travel to Athens, Greece and then to Chengdu, China for the G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting from July 20 through July 24.
On July 20-21 in Athens, Secretary Lew will meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos to discuss progress in Greece’s reform implementation.  The Secretary will encourage the government to continue making strong progress on reforms this summer so that European leaders can begin discussing with the IMF the timing and details of debt relief this fall.
On July 22-24 in Chengdu, Secretary Lew will attend the G-20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting.  Secretary Lew will meet with his international counterparts to discuss the importance of using all policy tools available – monetary, fiscal, and structural – to continue to promote shared growth.
