WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence David S. Cohen is traveling this week to Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Beijing, China; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; and Muscat, Oman. He will meet with senior government officials to discuss the implementation of the extended Joint Plan of Action (JPOA), agreed to by the P5+1, the European Union and Iran, and efforts to ensure the continued robust enforcement of existing international financial and economic sanctions against Iran. Under Secretary Cohen also will discuss international efforts to maintain financial pressure on the government of Russia in response to its destabilizing actions in eastern Ukraine, as well as ongoing sanctions efforts related to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, including implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolutions.
