Acting Under Secretary Szubin Visits United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, And Saudi Arabia October 26 - 29

WASHINGTON
– The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam J. Szubin will visit United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from October 26-29, 2015. Acting Under Secretary Szubin will travel with Treasury officials including OFAC Acting Director John Smith. 
Acting Under Secretary Szubin will meet with senior government officials as well as business, legal, and compliance leaders to discuss key issues including the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached among the P5+1, the European Union, and Iran, as well as joint counterterror finance efforts.  Acting Under Secretary Szubin will emphasize the United States’ commitment to promoting security in the region, ongoing U.S. preparations to meet our sanctions relief commitments upon Implementation Day under the JCPOA, and our active ongoing efforts to combat Iran’s support for terrorism, including its terrorist proxy Hizballah, and other destabilizing activity. 
During his trip, Acting Under Secretary Szubin will meet with senior finance and foreign affairs officials in the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. In Dubai, Acting Under Secretary Szubin will also speak to compliance officers from across the region on sanctions and financial crimes compliance.  In Abu Dhabi, Acting Under Secretary Szubin will deliver remarks at a workshop on de-risking.
