WASHINGTON – At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 6, Treasury Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy Jan Eberly will hold a pen and pad briefing to discuss the December employment numbers. Eberly will discuss the recent economic indicators in the context of the Administration’s efforts to strengthen the economic recovery, including the need to extend the payroll tax cut for the remainder of the year and pass the pieces of the American Jobs Act. Private economists have said that these efforts could create more than a million jobs and provide a major boost to economic growth.
