Obama Administration and Hope Now to Host Media Availability to Kick Off Free "Help for Homeowners Community Event" for Chicago-Area Homeowners

Event is Part of Nationwide Outreach Initiative to Help Homeowners Avoid Foreclosure by Connecting them with their Mortgage Company and a HUD-Approved Housing Counselor

CHICAGO, IL On Monday, April 23 at 12:30 p.m., Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department Neal Wolin and HOPE NOW Alliance Executive Director Faith Schwartz will join National Association of REALTORS® President Moe Veissi, NeighborWorks® America National Director of Homeownership and Lending Marietta Rodriguez and Illinois Housing Development Authority Executive Director Mary Kenney for a media availability to kick off the free Help for Homeowners Community Event at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. The Help for Homeowners Community Event is part of a nationwide outreach initiative by the Obama Administration, the HOPE NOW Alliance and NeighborWorks® America to provide free help for struggling homeowners by connecting them directly with their mortgage servicer and a HUD-approved housing counselor to discuss alternatives to foreclosure. Sixteen of the nation’s largest mortgage servicers and more than a dozen local HUD-approved housing counseling organizations are confirmed for Monday’s event to assist struggling homeowners in the Chicago area.
