General Counsel (Acting)
As Acting General Counsel, Addar Levi serves as the chief legal officer of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She counsels the Secretary and other senior Treasury officials on a wide range of issues, including banking and finance, international economic affairs, investment security, terrorism finance, and tax policy.
Prior to joining Treasury, Levi was General Counsel of the Obama Foundation and General Counsel of President and Mrs. Obama’s family office. Earlier in her career, she served in the White House Counsel’s Office, practiced at an international law firm based in Washington, D.C., and worked at a non-profit in the Bronx focused on helping women achieve financial independence.
A first-generation American raised in California, Levi earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and her law degree from Harvard Law School.
