Privacy, Transparency, and Records

Privacy, Transparency, and Records (PTR) provides Treasury library services, manages the Orders and Directives program, general administration for PTR, and PTR procurement. PTR serves both the public and the Federal Government community by determining and setting the standards for protecting, facilitating access, preserving, retaining, and disclosing Treasury information.

PTR works to ensure that the public, Congress, other government agencies, and relevant stakeholders can obtain timely and efficient access to Treasury information, in accordance with laws, regulations, and in support of the mission.

 

Privacy and Civil Liberties

The Privacy and Civil Liberties program mission is to ensure that Treasury complies with statutory, regulatory and policy requirements when it collects, maintains, uses and shares personally identifiable information.

 

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Transparency 

The Office of Disclosure Services administers a records disclosure program in the Department of the Treasury that is in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and the Privacy Act.

 

Treasury Records

The Office of Treasury Records provides leadership, guidance, and policy to the Department of Treasury and bureaus to ensure reasonable uniformity in records management activities throughout the Department.

 

Treasury Library

The Treasury Library provides convenient access to mission critical information required by Departmental Offices and Treasury Bureaus, and provides information about Treasury requested by the public.
 

Records and Information Management

Records and Information Management ensures Departmental Offices compliance with the Federal Records Act retention, Paperwork Reduction Act, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Federal Advisory Committee Act.

 

Treasury Orders and Directives

Treasury Orders and Directives System contains the Department's primary management documents. These documents establish policy and assign responsibilities to Secretarial Officers. Treasury Orders and Directives works to maintain a current and comprehensive portfolio of policy and operating guidance for the Department of the Treasury, by effective process management and collaboration with internal Treasury stakeholders.
