Bank Lending Surveys - Snapshot

The Monthly Lending and Intermediation Snapshot collects quantitative information on three major categories of lending consumer, commercial, and other activities based on Bank internal reporting, as well as commentary to explain changes in lending levels for each category. In addition, the snapshot contains a qualitative section that provides market color on lending demand and credit standards generally to help Treasury and the public meaningfully and accurately interpret the quantitative data.

Treasury began collecting Snapshot data in January 2009 from the 20 largest recipients of Capital Purchase Program (CPP) funds. The reporting universe expanded to 22 institutions in April 2009. Institutions that have repaid the funds they received through the CPP no longer submit Snapshot data. As of March 2012, all 22 institutions have repaid their CPP funds. As a result, Treasury no longer receives any new Snapshot data, and thus will no longer publish the summary analysis going forward. All historical data is still available on this website.
