The Central States, Southeast and Southwest Areas Pension Plan (“Central States Pension Plan”) application proposing benefit suspensions can be found below. The application is organized by the items specified in Revenue Procedure 2015-34 . The application includes, among other items, the Description of Benefit Suspension and the Certification to Avoid Insolvency . A summary of the proposed Central States benefit suspension is included in the Description of Benefit Suspension on pages 2.1.1-2.1.6.
Central States Pension Plan’s representative has advised us that individualized participant notices were sent via first class mail on October 1, 2015. Samples of the notice can be found here . If you are a participant and have not received an individualized notice, you should contact Central States directly.
Treasury will consider comments on the application that are timely received from interested parties, including contributing employers, employee organizations, and participants and beneficiaries of Central States.
